Holly Sabourin - Ceramic Artist 

 My name is Holly Sabourin and this is my wix site I created and made specifically for my art as I make it at the Nina in Edmonton. I am from a town called Hay River in the North West Territories, Canada. I am 28 years old and have been attending Nina Haggerty for 5 years now.

I began in the ceramic studio and it is my favourite place for making my art. I have also been in fabric, monoprint, and just recently print making.

I started in clay making bowls as a beginner. I went from there to making balls of clay with different designs on them. After that I turned the balls into faces, then put them on bodies. I would often make animal figures such as a racoon, a fox, a dog, a bear, a pig, and others. I began a collection of pinch pot animals too. In this one was an elephant, a rattlesnake, a rhino, a cat, a bunny, and a few more.

 I like to work with the clay and I like to sell my art.

I have been interested in art since I was a small girl. My preferred medium was sketching. I was new to ceramics, but once I started I began to enjoy it. I learned many things about clay while at the Nina Haggerty. I made lots of art in the studio, and sold quite a few pieces of my work too. I worked on commissions, they were a lot of fun to do. 

I remember working on my animal ones. I made a koala. I went through the whole process and then did it over again  to create my next projects. I have made around 30 or so sculptures maybe, but not all of them get sold. I have taken home my best and most liked. The others remain at the Nina Haggerty. Some are sold at exhibitions and art shows.

I decided to make a web site  because I thought it was another way to post the art I make  for people to see/ buy.

I will be adding art onto this site as they are completed. I will add them in all the steps that go into making them.

I have met a lot of people at the Nina Haggerty and will continue to do more work with them on my artistic abilities.
